Rating by category:
It is a brand new rated 5 star hotel 2 weeks old since it was opened to the public. The location is in between Fira which is the main town and Oia. It is walking distance to restaurants, small grocery store. Nicely designed. Helpful Reception staff and breakfast server.
Too early to be rated 5 star. The rooms above us and on one side are not yet ready for guests. We booked our room with private swimming pool but then we also had men workers on the next door having a private viewing of us sunbathing. Drilling and hammering was going on some early mornings. We paid extra for breakfast but then food was not enough for all the residents especially when you arrive 20-15 minutes before closing time. It is like being rationed! The room smells sewage especially if all openings in the bathroom are not closed i.e. sink, bathtub and floor drainage. Housekeeping will not change the towels on a daily basis unless we pile them on the floor. Also toilet rolls are being rationed which is not common to 5 star hotels I have been. The management are more busy with marketing and naming the rooms with luxury names instead of improving the service quality provided by the hotel. The surrounding of the private pools below needs to be cleaned and long dried grasses need to be cut as lizards are creeping from the glass barrier openings coming from that bush into the private pools. However, most probably after more experience and given more time this hotel will improve plus when all the rooms are ready for occupancy then there will be no more workers doing their private viewing in turns!
The staff were first class from the moment we arrived until the moment I left. Jason the bar manager had drinks for us on arrival. Gave us excellent advice on where to go and got us the best tables at all the restaurants. Worth spending a little extra to stay here. 5 star all the way.
The Bed was ok
We stayed 1 night and left even though we paid for 5 nights. The Hotel is really off the beaten track it is near nothing. We were looking for a Pool and Beach Vacation. Advertised as overlooking the Ocean it is a 120 Euro round trip to the Beach. The Pool is not Heated. The hot tub is not heated!!!!!
it's awesome, the rooms are incredible... Firostefani is one of my favourite areas in Santorini, anyways!
i found it allowing me to have serenity but not to far from all the sites and major spots.
i found you had not beverage service or room service something very annoying but everything else made up for that one thing
Great staff at the reception and at the pool bar.
It is a nice hotel. the room is big, nice and bright, breakfast is good. welcome drink is good.
the hotel is good so it is really not necessary to have 'overmarketing' . I think they need to clarify that the rooms face to east so there would not be sunset view but only sunrise, and the private pool is not private at all. yes no one else could jump into and swim with you but everybody could see you! I chose the hotel because the private pool but so disappointed!
amazing rooms, very spacious, nice mirror and table area for getting ready. nice big granite bathrooms and very clean and modern rooms, hotel is very very new ( less than 3 months). Pool was very clean and breakfast was generous, Greeks are very hospitable people and this hotel was definitely up to my standards
Modern and great design. Staff at the front desk and bar are friendly. Wonderful sunrise from the room.
Even this is expected, the view from the view is still nothing can compare to the volcano view.
Very quiet, nice if you want to relax. Lovely and helpful staff, especially girls from the reception (Sara, Lena, Isabel), also Bona who prepares lovely breakfast every morning, and also Antonis this Greek boy working at the pool bar - he's hardworking and a very nice boy.
No privacy. Water at the pool was too cold. There could be more breakfast selection Very very basic rooms, only furniture nothing else to make you feel you are in a 5 star hotel. I think this hotel has a potential to be a 5 star hotel (3 stars max at the present) but it will take a lot of time.
Design and lay out Friendly service position
some rounding off required as resort only in operation for 2 months
Quiet,Relaxing,Breakfast,Staff,Clean and new.
They don't have english speaking staff after midnight.
Great Hotel, very nice, clean & modern i recommend everybody to visit it & stay in
An excellent hotel in a good location for easy access to the Caldera, restaurants and bars. Staff are exceptional and the breakfast buffet very good with a large range for all tastes. We would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again.
The hotel is very new and has only been open approximately 8 weeks. There are some unfinished areas around the grounds and in the rooms, however this did not detract from our stay.
Splendour Resort has only been open for one month so there were a few details unattended to, but the staff were very helpful (especially Sarah and Jason) in assisting us with directions, renting a quad, getting a taxi etc. I would definately return here to the Splendour in the future.
Some people may think that the location of this hotel - not being on the side of the volcano where all the action is - might be a negative, however I liked that I could literally walk across the road and be right in the action and then when I had enough of that I could walk back across the street to the Splendour Resort where it was quite and uncrowded.
